The Jones Family Moves In

Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area will dedicate a new home in Allison Hill section of Harrisburg next week.  The dedication ceremony will take place on Tuesday, October 27th, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the home located at 25 Brady Street in Harrisburg.

The home dedication will feature members of the Tiffany Jones family as they begin life in their new property.  The Jones family contributed more than 350 sweat equity hours toward the completion of the home.  This dedication will also recognize the primary sponsor of the project Andersen Windows.

“This home is an excellent example of the community support shown nation-wide by Andersen Windows,” said Habitat Executive Director Eve Wachhaus.  “Tiffany and her family now have a safe, affordable home in which to live and the entire community continues to feel the effects of Habitat’s work toward eliminating poverty housing.”

Jones and her four children make up a partner family with the Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area.  The new home has four bedrooms and has just over 1,200 square feet in living space and through Habitat for Humanity, Jones will also have a no-interest loan on the property.

Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area is an ecumenical ministry that welcomes all people dedicated to the cause of eliminating poverty housing. Through volunteer labor, tax deductible donations of money and materials, Habitat for Humanity builds new homes, rehabs and repairs homes and provides educational workshops.  Homes are sold to partner families at no profit and with no-interest mortgages.  Since its inception in 1986, the Harrisburg area affiliate has built more than 50 houses in the Harrisburg, PA area providing simple, decent and affordable homes with families in need.
