Annual Golf Outing Slated for Hershey Links

In a continuing effort to end poverty housing, Habitat for Humanity is proud to announce that Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area and MI Windows and Doors are teaming up for a golf outing for the 12th straight year to make a difference.  Recently, Habitat for Humanity and MI Windows and Doors reached a milestone of raising one million dollars to fight substandard housing. This year’s event has a new twist.  MI Windows and Doors will take the morning and Habitat for Humanity will take the afternoon.

This year’s event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the beautiful Hershey Links Golf Course, part of the Hershey Country Club and is open to everyone.

“Over the past few years, Habitat has had many requests from local businesses and Habitat supporters to join in our outing.  Here is that opportunity to be a part of a special day with your local Habitat for Humanity,” said Habitat’s Director of Development, Mark Mattern. “MI Windows and Doors continue to spearhead our effort and their partners and customers will be participating in the morning.  The afternoon will be set aside for more local participants.”

In 2009, Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area placed six new families into decent, affordable, new homes and made home repairs to 10 other homes to help keep families from becoming homeless.  With the help of local golfers, Habitat for Humanity would like to continue to do more in 2010 through the annual Golf Outing.  There will be a limit on the number of golfers that can be accommodated, so early registration is requested.

Area businesses can get involved through sponsorship packages which are explained on the registration form.  Individual golfers and foursomes are also welcome.

Anyone interested in joining Habitat for Humanity for their annual golf outing are asked to stop by www.harrisburghabitat.org, print out the registration form and fax it or send it to the Habitat office address on the form.

Please call Mark Mattern in the Habitat for Humanity office with any questions at 717-545-7299.
