20th Anniversary Show Set With Eaken Trio

Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area has announced that the popular “Home for the Holidays” concert presented by the Eaken Piano Trio will return for the 20th year.  This year’s show will take place on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral, 221 North Front Street, Harrisburg at 7:00 P.M.

The Grammy nominated Eaken Piano Trio is currently in its 24th year of critically acclaimed concert appearances across the United States, Canada and around the world.  The Eaken Trio is proud of their community outreach programs that have helped raise awareness of the homeless problems here in America and have generated tens of thousands of dollars to support organizations, like Habitat for Humanity, who help the homeless and those living in poverty housing.

The Eaken Piano Trio, with John Eaken, Gloria Whitney and Andrew Rammon, were honored recently by Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area as their Outstanding Sustaining Partner for 2009.

“We are both honored and pleased that the Eaken Trio has agreed to perform on behalf of Habitat for Humanity for the 20th straight year,” said Mark Mattern, Habitat’s Director of Development.  “For the thousands who have attended these shows over the years, it serves as a kick off for the holiday season.”

There is no charge to attend this wonderful performance; however at-will donations will be accepted at the door.  Anyone wanting to reserve a seat for the show may do so in advance by making a $20.00 per seat donation to Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area.  To reserve a seat call the Habitat office at 545-7299.

The evening will also include a reception following the concert at St. Stephen’s and is presented by the Harrisburg Gourmet Club.  Current sponsors of the Eaken Trio Concert include Mid Penn Bank, Home Builders Association Community Service Fund of the Foundation for Enhancing Communities, on behalf HBA of Metropolitan Harrisburg, Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District and Allen D. Quirk, Jr.

Other sponsorships, which include reserved seats, and program space is available for the event.
