HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF THE GREATER HARRISBURG AREA NAMES
EVE GURIAN-WACHHAUS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area has named Eve Gurian-Wachhaus as its new executive director.  Eve will assume the role as leader of Habitat’s day-to-day operations, overseeing Habitat’s mission of eliminating poverty housing through construction, rehabilitation and repair of housing in the Harrisburg Area.

Eve has spent the past seven years at Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company working as a project manager and interim consultant on special projects.  She is a 1992 graduate of Johns Hopkins University.  Eve is also a member of Temple Beth El in Lancaster, serving on its Board of Directors and on several committees, and volunteers in our community with Junior Achievement of Central Pennsylvania.

The President of Habitat’s Board of Directors, Steven Grubb, who chaired the executive director search committee, stated, “We were overwhelmed by Eve’s enthusiasm, her communication skills and her demonstrated ability to look at issues, immediately get to the root of an issue and then efficiently and effectively work out solutions.  As a non-profit, charitable organization, we rely on partnerships with businesses and individuals in the community who share our goal of eliminating poverty housing.  We are confident that Eve’s skills are going strengthen those partnerships and develop many new ones.”
