Memorial Day Party With A Cause

Over Memorial Day weekend, four work colleagues hosted a party which surpassed their wildest dreams. It started with a simple idea, one member’s great personal connections, another’s incredible acreage, and lots of team work, then morphed into a fantastic gathering with more than 100 in attendance. Most importantly, the group raised over $900 dollars for Habitat For Humanity’s Veterans Build program and paid special tribute to Veterans throughout the evening, reminding everyone what the Memorial Day weekend represents.

The party was held a private venue and had a redneck, white and blue theme. Two country music singer/songwriters were the main draw. The festivities began at the late afternoon sunlight and ended with Kim Paige and Rick Ferrell entertaining the audience into the evening’s twilight hours. Throughout the event, folks were picnicking, enjoying adult beverages, and taking part in the various fundraising activities. Beanbags could be heard hitting a half dozen corn hole boards during a heady competition as raffle volunteers convinced anyone nearby to take a chance for a great cause. Children were exploring the woodsy property, swimming, or participating in the various activities designed just for them. The weather and wonderful family atmosphere made the event perfect.

If four everyday kind of people can create something like this, so can you. Everyone likes to party…why not party with a cause?
