Wells Fargo Continues to Build Community Relationships Through Habitat for Humanity
For more than eleven years, Wells Fargo Bank has been a mainstay at Habitat for Humanity work sites in the Greater Harrisburg Region. This year is no different. On June 14, 2017, volunteers worked with Habitat to rehab a home in Steelton Borough. A project Wells Fargo believes will help enrich the entire community.
Supporting the development of its service area and the citizens that comprise it has always been the Wells Fargo way. “Habitat’s programs allow people to get started and have the joy of owning a home. Every little bit helps and our hands want to be a part of that.”
A team of volunteers from Wells Fargo grabbed shovels and drills and took Habitat by storm on this day. The group comprised of nine Wells Fargo employees from seven of the bank’s local branches, including Union Deposit Branch Manager Guy Buchen and banker Cristal Ortega, Riverside Branch Manager Adam Welker, Colonial Park Mall Branch Manager Deb Dusel, East Main Street Palmyra Branch Manager Titus Brown, West Main Street, Mt Joy Branch Manager Beata Rineer, Harrisburg Mall Branch teller Micah McClendon and Phyllis Leonard, a Wells At Work Partner. The group, along with other Habitat volunteers, prepared the house to receive new electrical wiring and removed dirt from the basement to re-lay a modern foundation.
This outing was part of a continuing partnership between Wells Fargo and Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area. Wells Fargo has generously donated $15,000 towards the home build in Steelton Borough, as well as an additional $10,000 towards four Home Preservation projects for local veterans.
