11th Annual Auction, Two Weeks Away

The Art Auction, featuring original art by local artists, to benefit Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area is set for April 1, 2016

The Eleventh Annual Habitat for Humanity Juried Art Auction sponsored by M&T Bank will be held at the Hershey Country Club, April 1, 2016, and this is no joke. The yearly event is an exciting way for artists, art collectors, community leaders and area residents to learn more about working artists in the greater Harrisburg area. This year 30 items will be auctioned off during the live portion of the night and those items may be viewed below!

The first ten auctions raised nearly $200,000.00, with all proceeds going to construction of rehab homes and critical home repair projects.

“We had a great response from artists as well as from a very supportive business community. This year we will again have a full slate of outstanding art from some great local artists,” said Antron Watson, Habitat’s Assist Executive Director.

There will be nearly 30 original art pieces will be auctioned off to the high bidder during the evening.  B.J. Jennings of the Jennings Auction Group, will handle the audience for the fifth year in a row. Clear Channel’s Michael Parks will once again serve as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies.

The committee also secured two items with a $1000.00 value to be auctioned off to the highest bidder! The first is a private tour and dinner/beer pairing for 12 from Troegs Independent Brewing and the second is use of luxury Senators suite for 20, includes 4 parking passes and food and beverages for one game donated by Capital Blue Cross.

This year’s event will feature music provided by MixMasters Entertainment during the Meet the Artist Reception starting at 6:00pm.  During the reception, there will be a silent auction, 50/50 drawing, sign a “Stud”, amazing donated hors d’eouvres as well as beer tasting with Troegs and wine sampling with Spring Gate Vineyard.
